These days, we have been monitoring the situation in China closely. We express our deep sympathy to those who have lost their loved ones and hope that all those infected with the virus will recover soon.
近来，我们一直在密切关注着中国的局势。我们对失去亲人的人们表示深切的同情与慰问，并真切希望所有感染病毒的人能早日康复。
It is an honor for us to have cooperation with Chinese universities and the whole Chinese academic community, which enhances education and scientific research on both sides and helps outstanding students and young scholars in both countries realize their dreams. The exchange programs between universities in our two countries enable the participating students and scholars to contribute to the development of both countries.
我们很荣幸与中国的大学和学术界合作，增进双方的教育和科学研究，并帮助两国的优秀学生和青年学者实现他们的梦想。我们两国大学之间的交流计划使参与的学生和学者为两国的发展作出了贡献。

the past few weeks, the faculty, students and staff at the University of
British Columbia (UBC) have been closely following the situation of a
novel coronavirus outbreak in China.

We’ve seen the catastrophic damage that the virus is causing to the lives of millions of Chinese people. We are deeply concerned about the developments, and at the same time, encouraged and touched by the fast and heroic responses by the Chinese governments and medical workers in fighting against this coronavirus.
